ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The goal of the Adopt A Scholar program is to provide annual financial aid to qualified students residing in the City of Chester, from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
Underlying this program is the belief that a student who exhibits talent and motivation, and whose family is committed to making their child's education a priority, should be afforded the opportunity to experience a values-based and academically challenging educational program.

VISION
Adopt A Scholar Foundation focuses on identifying young scholars residing in the Chester-Upland School District and seeks to provide a pathway for their education at area independent (private) schools. Criteria for scholar selections include identifying academically high potential children within a family environment that is supportive of academic achievement but unable to access funds for private school tuition.
We work to build relationships with area private schools to enable our young scholars to attend academically challenging schools. The Foundation raises funds for scholarships and associated school fees. Our financial commitment may extend to cover some non-tuition school year expenses such as tutoring, transportation, sports and activities fees.
While our focus is on identifying our scholars at a young (primary school) age, we will also seek out relationships with schools to help facilitate our scholars’ transition into academically challenging upper schools.
THE FUTURE
The academic and social experiences for these children have long-lasting effects, which can support
their growth and change their lives. When it comes to children and their future, there are few of us who
wouldn’t want to learn how to be part of that effort. What better investment could there be than one that
benefits a child, both with an education and a character-building experience to carry them into a lifetime
of purpose, value and strength.
Adopt a Scholar Foundation continues to evolve and broaden our reach to include more private schools and more
children as our funding increases. At this time nearly $100,000 has been raised to ensure our first three scholars
their education, and there are more children who deserve this opportunity.
