FAQ's
How are the Scholars Selected?
Students will be selected for scholarships based on residency in the City of Chester and through consultation between the Adopt A Scholar Foundation, the student's teachers and parents, and the Head of the proposed school. The student must demonstrate scholastic achievement, strong individual motivation, a sound sense of citizenship and financial need.
How can one sponsor a Scholar?
Sponsors will provide a tax-deductible annual financial aid package that will ensure a student’s education at small private school. A summary profile of the scholar will be provided to the sponsor, and the school will provide sponsors with letters summarizing each student’s progress every semester.
What percentage of the Donor’s gift is given directly to the Scholar?
100% of donations go directly to scholars. Every dollar you donate is deposited into a restricted fund account and reserved for your scholar’s tuition and school fees. Sponsors meet their respective students and receive school progress reports from The Walden School.
